Garancières is a French commune with 2,348 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Aubergenville (until 2015: canton of Montfort-l'Amaury ). The inhabitants are called Garanciérois .
geography
Garancières is located about 28 kilometers west of Versailles on the Ru du Breuil stream . Garancières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Flexanville in the north and north-west, Villiers-le-Mahieu in the north, Autouillet in the north-east, Boissy-sans-Avoir in the east, La Queue-les-Yvelines in the south, Millemont in the south-west and Béhoust in the west.
