Christine Boutin (born February 6, 1944 in Levroux ( Département Indre )) is a French politician . She founded the Forum des républicains sociaux (FRS) party in 2001 and was a candidate for the state presidency in 2002 . From 2007 to 2009 she was Minister for Housing and Urban Development in the government of Prime Minister François Fillon .

Origin and education

Christine Boutin is the daughter of journalist Xavier Martin and former journalist Bernadette Durand. Like her parents, Christine also worked as a journalist. She is married to computer scientist Louis Boutin, her first cousin, and has three children.
