The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 42nd time in 1947/48 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 42nd edition of the men's second-highest soccer division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1947/48 season, 16 clubs competed against each other in a total of 30 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship won the FC East Fife , who secured promotion to Division One together with the runner-up Albion Rovers . The top scorer with 39 goals was Henry Morris of East Fife FC.
