Paul Gray (musician, 1958)
Paul Gray (born August 1, 1958 in Rochford , Essex ) is a British bass player .
Gray initially played in the band Eddie & the Hot Rods , but joined the punk band The Damned in 1980 as a bassist . For this band he played two albums before replacing founding member Pete Way in 1983 with the hard rock band UFO . Gray stayed with UFO until the band ended prematurely in 1987. In addition, he was the studio bassist for Johnny Thunders ' solo band Living Dead, Andrew Ridgeley (ex-Wham!).
Paul Gray was mainly responsible for the songs on Eddie & the Hot Rods' 1996 reunion album Gasolene Days . A tour of Germany in January 1997 brought the group back attention.
Gray lives in Cardiff and is involved in the charitable organization Community Music Wales . Occasionally he makes guest appearances with The Damned .
In September 2017, The Damned announced via Pledgemusic that Gray had joined the band again.
