Paul Hörmann

Paul P. Hörmann (born August 2, 1967 in Hilversum , Netherlands ) is a Dutch opera singer ( tenor ), actor, and producer.

Life

He studied singing (concert / opera) at the Utrecht Conservatory and has gained experience with numerous concerts, opera and musical theater performances worldwide. As the actor of Erich Collin in Comedian Harmonists Part 2 (world premiere in February 2005), he spent several years with the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin and the Theater Bielefeld . Hörmann has made guest appearances at the Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston , the Konzerthaus Berlin , the Schlosstheater in the New Palais in Potsdam and the Berlin Philharmonic . In the summer of 2014 he was engaged at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel as “Ari Leschnikoff”, 1st tenor in the theater production Comedian Harmonists.

In 2007 he founded the soloist ensemble Tchap and organized a concert series with Tchap and the Minsk Orchestra together with the New European Festival . The ensemble has performed in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Monaco. A recording of Tchap can be heard in the Polish film Miasto 44 . The name of the group was changed in 2018 to "Berlin Singsman". Together with the Orpheus Salon Orchestra - under the direction of Wolfram Korr - Berlin Singsmen gives concerts annually in the great hall of the Konzerthaus Berlin as "Christmas Harmonists".

With Kinder-von-Heute , Paul Hörmann initiated a special project in the Fichtelgebirge region. Refugee children like Germans write stories and poems on topics such as flight, home and family as well as the future.

With his company Interperform Creations UG, he has been involved as a trainer and partner organization in the European funded network Chibow (Children born of war) since 2015. This network consists of young scientists, partner institutes and partner organizations from Europe, which is coordinated by Sabine Lee together with project manager Amy Wilkins from the University of Birmingham.

Hörmann is the initiator and head of the “New Year's Swim Fichtelgebirge”, which started in winter 2016.

He is married to the opera singer Hye-Eun Lee. The two live with their two children in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
