Paul Healion

Paul Healion (born June 3, 1978 in Dublin , † August 16, 2009 in Ardee , County Louth ) was an Irish track and road cyclist .

Career

Paul Healion became Irish time trial champion in 2000 . In the 2004 season he was national track cycling champion in the single pursuit . The next year he drove for the Driving Force Logistics team from September and in 2006 he moved to Murphy & Gunn . There he won one stage and the overall classification at Ras Mumhan and two stages at the Tour of Ulster. He was also successful at the Stephen Roche Grand Prix . In the next season he again won a part of the Ras Mumha n. Since 2008 Healion drove for the Irish Continental Team Pezula Racing .

He died on August 16, 2009 as a result of a traffic accident.
