Paul Heidhues

Paul Heidhues is a German economist.

Life

After completing his Masters in Economics at the Australian National University in 1993 , he was a research assistant at the Social Science Research Center in Berlin from 1998 to 1999 . From 1999 to 2005 he was a research assistant at the Social Research Center in Berlin. After the Ph.D. 2000 in Economics at Rice University , he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley from 2009 to 2010 . In the fall of 2002 he was a visiting scholar at the University of Pittsburgh . In spring 2003 he was a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . AfterHabilitation in 2005 at the Humboldt University in Berlin , he was a professor at the University of Bonn in 2005 . From 2005 to 2010 he was a professor (W2) for micro theory in Bonn . From 2010 to 2016 he held the Lufthansa Chair in Competition and Regulation as Professor of Economics at ESMT . In 2016 he was a visiting scholar at Dartmouth College . Since 2016 he has taught as Professor of Behavioral and competition economics at Dusseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE).

His teaching and research interests are behavioral economics, industrial economics, competition economics and (applied) game theory.
