Paul Hoffacker (born November 24, 1930 in Büderich ) is a German lawyer and former politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduation in 1951 Hoffacker began studying law, which he in 1960 with the second legal state examination and in 1961 with the graduation to the Dr. iur. finished. He then entered the church service, initially as a consultant for law and finance in the diocese of Essen and from 1963 to 1965 as a consultant for civic affairs at the Central Committee of German Catholics in Bad Godesberg . From 1965 to 1977 he was managing director of Aktion Adveniat in Essen . He then worked as a lawyer before he was appointed director of the Catholic Academy Die Wolfsburg in Mülheim - Speldorf in 1981 .

In addition, Hoffacker was honorary chairman of the German Central Association of the Kolping Society from 1972 to 1986 and honorary chairman of the diocesan council of Catholics in the diocese of Essen from 1972 to 1993 . He was also a member of the supervisory board of the bank in the Essen diocese from 1993 to 1997.

Political party

Hoffacker joined the CDU in 1958. Until 1999 he was a member of the district board of the CDU Essen, a member of the district board of the CDU Ruhrgebiet and a member of the state board of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia.

Hoffacker was a member of the German Bundestag from 1976 to 1980 and from December 21, 1982, when he replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Egon Lampersbach , until 1994.
