Paul Kaestner
Paul Kaestner (born August 3, 1876 in Altona , † March 27, 1936 in Höchenschwand , Black Forest ) was a German lawyer , ministerial director and hymn poet .
From 1904 to 1931 Paul Kaestner was ministerial director for popular education in the Prussian Ministry of Culture in Berlin and co-founder of the Hohenrodter Bund .
He is the lyricist of the first stanza of the hymn Let the root of our actions be love ( EG 417). The second stanza comes from Dieter Trautwein from 1986, the music from Volker Ochs from 1971.
