Paul Kewitsch

Paul Kewitsch (* 1909 in Warmia ; † 1997 ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and non-fiction author .

Life

Paul Kewitsch grew up in Warmia and was ordained a Catholic priest there . He came to Lippstadt in 1945 in the course of the flight and expulsion from Allenstein and became head of the Catholic Osthilfe of the Diocesan Association of Caritas in the Archdiocese of Paderborn . From October 1945, Prelate Kewitsch coordinated the distribution of the CARE packages on behalf of the Paderborn Caritas Association . He looked after refugees and displaced persons and provided housing and spiritual help. He headed the reporting and control center for late resettled Catholic youth.

Paul Kewitsch became editor of the Allenstein letter in 1948 . He published anthologies by Warmian authors and published articles about his work as a refugee priest. The estate is in the Paderborn City Archives.
