Paul Kormashov (also Paul Kormašov ; born April 29, 1989 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian painter living in Berlin .

Life and art

Paul Kormashov comes from an old Tallinn artist family. His father, Andrei Kormašov (* 1957), is an Estonian graphic artist. Paul's grandfather Nikolai Kormašov (1929–2012) was a painter, his grandmother Luule Kormašova (nee Aasnõmm , * 1935) is a renowned ceramic artist. His uncle, Orest Kormašov (* 1965), and his aunt, Jaana Kormašov (* 1966), are well-known Tallinn artists.

From 2005 to 2008 Paul Kormashov attended the art class at the renowned Vanalinna Haridus College in Tallinn's Old Town . From 2008 to 2013 he studied painting at the art college in Tartu, South Estonia (today Kõrgem Kunstikool Pallas ). In 2012 he had his first solo exhibition in Tartu. Further exhibitions followed in Võru (2015) and Berlin (2016). He also took part in numerous group exhibitions.

In 2015 Paul Kormashov moved to Berlin. Today he lives in Wedding , where his studio is located.

Paul Kormashovs currently paints mostly abstract works that are influenced by Cubism . In strong colors, they process the impressions of the big city with its chaotic energy and liveliness.
