Sara Skyttedal (born August 6, 1986 in Tyresö ) is a Swedish politician from Kristdemokraterna (KD). Since July 2, 2019 she has been a member of the European Parliament of the European People's Party (EPP) in the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) .

Life

Sara Skyttedal grew up in Haninge and studied 2006/07 at Södertörn University and from 2007 to 2010 political science at Stockholm University . Among other things, she worked in sales and marketing.

In 2002 she joined the Christian Democrats and was active in local politics in her home town of Haninge . From 2011 to 2015 she was one of the vice-presidents of the Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP). In 2013 she was elected chairwoman of Kristdemokratiska ungdomsförbundet (KDU), the youth organization of the Swedish Christian Democrats. She held this position until 2016. From 2016 she worked in Linköping in local politics.

For the European elections in Sweden 2019 , she was nominated by the Christian Democrats together with David Lega as the top candidate. Skyttedal received 74,325 votes. In the 9th electoral term of the European Parliament beginning July 2, 2019, Skyttedal is a full member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and a deputy member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) for the European People's Party (EPP) in of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) .
