Career

Paul McKenna started out as a DJ for various English radio stations . In the mid-80s he was heard for the first time on the radio station “ Chiltern Radio ”, where he quickly became known for his humor and original personality. Then he switched to the London radio station " Capital Radio ".

During a radio interview with a hypnotist, Paul McKenna sparked an interest in hypnosis, which he began to study shortly afterwards. Although he still mainly worked as a DJ, he also started doing small hypnosis shows. At first he only performed these shows with his friends, later also in clubs and bars . With these performances he finally advertised on the radio, which after a short time he also appeared in major theaters in England, Ireland and the USA. His main goal was to entertain the audience, but more and more people started booking him for one-on-one hypnotherapy sessions.

In early 1990 he left Capital Radio and switched to the radio station BBC Radio One . But he soon quit there too, in order to concentrate exclusively on his career as a hypnotist. In 1993, ITV television released Paul McKenna's first TV series called The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna . In this entertainment show, Paul McKenna hypnotized volunteer viewers from his show. The show was later repeated on the English television channel Bravo .

During this time, Paul expanded his knowledge of hypnosis, including knowledge of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
