Paul Milliet (born February 14, 1848 in Rio de Janeiro , † November 21, 1924 in Paris ) was a French librettist.

Milliet was best known for his libretti for Jules Massenet . For him he wrote "Werther" after Goethe's "The Sorrows of Young Werther" and - together with Henri Grémont - the Hérodiade after Gustave Flaubert's Hérodias from his Trois contes .

He wrote the libretto for the opera Matthias Corvin for the Hungarian composer Sándor Bertha , who lives in Paris , three of his librettos were set to music by the Greek composer Spyros Samaras . He also translated the libretto for the French version of Manuel de Falla's opera La vida breve .

Milliet was married to the American singer Ada Adini .
