Paul Otto Pfleiderer (born February 15, 1880 - † September 1, 1960 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Career

Pfleiderer was born as the son of the timber merchant Gustav Adolf Pfleiderer (1845–1896). His father founded the GA Pfleiderer Langholzhandlung (GAP) in Heilbronn in 1894 , which Paul Otto joined in 1898. After the early death of their father, Paul Otto and his older brother Adolf Pfleiderer (1877–1957) took over management of the company.

In 1907 he married Gladys Ball in Toronto. In 1912 their son Herbert Pfleiderer was born.

After the First World War , the Pfleiderer brothers relocated the business area to the industrial production of wood products. They expanded the company to include a sawmill in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz , a paper mill in Teisnach and a steam sawmill in Großpertholz . After the destruction of the central warehouse and the severe damage to Paul Otto Pfleiderer's private home from the bombing on December 4, 1944 , the central office was also relocated from Heilbronn to Neumarkt, where the company had been based since 1931.

In the years after the end of the Second World War , Pfleiderer had 40 apartments built for the workers it employed in addition to the reconstruction of the company and made considerable funds available to the Caritas Association for the construction of apartments. He also supported the reconstruction of churches financially. In 1949 he handed over the management of the company to his son Herbert and retired to his home town of Heilbronn, where he donated 10,000 DM for the municipal retirement home.
