Paul Poggendorff

Paul Poggendorff (born October 21, 1832 in Berlin ; † February 27, 1910 there ) was a German agronomist and writer.

Poggendorff, son of the physicist Johann Christian Poggendorff , completed several years of apprenticeship on farms from 1850 and traveled to Belgium and England in 1856. He wrote two excellent books about these trips. From 1857 to 1883 he worked as an estate manager. In 1884 he became managing director of the then famous " Club of farmers in Berlin ". In this function he worked until 1902. He was close friends with the agricultural technician Max Eyth and was part of the board of directors of the German Agricultural Society .
