Paul Renz (born June 29, 1920 in Haberspirk , West Bohemia, † March 10, 1993 in Augsburg ) was a German football coach.

Career

Renz was youth leader of BC Augsburg and FC Augsburg from 1953 to 1990 . Numerous talents emerged from the youth of the club, including the national soccer player Helmut Haller . Between 1953 and 1991 he initiated and organized the international Whitsun tournament of FC Augsburg for junior soccer players.

Honors

In 1988 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany for his commitment to international understanding and the promotion of the European idea . In 1994 the north sports facility in the Augsburg district of Oberhausen was named after him.
