Paul Sailer-Wlasits

Paul Sailer-Wlasits (born April 24, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian philosopher and political scientist .

Life

Sailer-Wlasits studied philosophy, political science , theater studies and economics in Vienna. Parallel to his accompanying economic studies, he completed a humanities double degree in political and theater studies (Mag. Phil.) And philosophy with a focus on the philosophy of language (Dr. phil.) At the University of Vienna. He is the author of several linguistic and philosophical-historical monographs, numerous political essays and theater reviews as well as the author of texts on aesthetics and contemporary visual arts.

For more than 20 years he has been researching language-philosophical phenomena in the context of language and violence, hate speech and verbal radicalism as well as linguistic aspects of populism . In numerous publications he devotes himself to the critical examination of rhetoric, metaphor and language in politics. His research on the history of language and violence, which he began in 2001, culminated in his book Verbalradikalismus , published in 2012 .
