Paul Sandby
Paul Sandby RA (baptized 1731 in Nottingham ; † November 9, 1809 in London ) was an English landscape painter and map-maker who, along with his brother Thomas Sandby, was one of the founders of the Royal Academy of Arts .
Life
He preferred to paint with watercolors.
In 1762 he was appointed Chief Drawing Master of the Royal Military Academy , a position he held until 1799.
