The Royal Military Academy (Royal Military Academy) was located in the London borough of Woolwich until 1939 .

Founded in 1741 the Royal Military Academy Woolwich trained officers from the Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers . Later officers of the Royal Corps of Signals and other technical units received their training in Woolwich. When the Second World War began in 1939, the Royal Military Academy Woolwich was closed. Their duties took over the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst .

Well-known teachers in Woolwich included Frederick Augustus Abel , Peter Barlow , Samuel Hunter Christie , Adair Crawford , Alfred George Greenhill , Percy Alexander MacMahon , Paul Sandby and James Joseph Sylvester .
