Life

Born in Zwettl in Lower Austria, Schönebner made his profession in the Heiligenkreuz Abbey around 1585 and was ordained a priest in 1587. Prior since April 1597, he was appointed administrator after the death of Abbot Johannes Rueff in 1599 and elected abbot in 1601.
