Paul Schmeck

Paul Schmeck (born March 10, 1894 in Solingen ; † December 11, 1976 ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Paul Schmeck attended elementary school and trained as an administrative clerk. He was a member of the Christian trade union movement from 1911 to October 1926. Until 1933 he acted as chairman of the Christian Social People's Service in Solingen.

politics

Paul Schmeck was a co-founder of the CDU Solingen and its district chairman. From 1967 he was the honorary chairman of the CDU Solingen and until 1967 a member of the state board of the CDU Rhineland and the Rhineland social committees. From 1946 to 1969 he was a member of the city council of Solingen and from 1950 to 1952 he was mayor of Solingen.

Paul Schmeck was from March 29, 1965 to July 23, 1966 and from October 28, 1969 to July 25, 1970 a member of the 5th and 6th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia, to which he moved up.

Honors

In 1968 Schmeck was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1971 he received the ring of honor of the city of Solingen.
