Paul Studer

Paul Studer (* 1879 in Biel ; † January 23, 1927 ) was a Swiss Romance scholar .

Life

Studer studied in Neuchâtel, Berlin and London and became Professor of French and German at Hartley University College in Southampton . From 1913 until his death, he was the second holder of the chair for Romance philology at Oxford (successor to Hermann Oelsner ; he was followed by Edwin Waters ).

Studer was married and had three children.
