Paul Tischbein
Paul Ludwig Philipp Wilhelm Tischbein (born July 12, 1820 in Rostock ; † May 17, 1874 there ) was a German painter.
Life
Paul Tischbein was the son of the Rostock painter August Tischbein from the Tischbein family of artists . His brother Albrecht Tischbein was an engineer and founder of the Neptun shipyard in Rostock . In 1848 Paul Tischbein studied at the art academies in Berlin and the art academy in Dresden , after which he worked as a drawing teacher. From 1861 to 1869 he was a drawing teacher at the large city school in Rostock . His subjects included landscapes, portraits, genre pictures and lithographic pictures of soldiers and traditional costumes. Three of his pictures are in the Kulturhistorisches Museum in Rostock .
