Paul Trommsdorff

Paul Trommsdorff (born May 19, 1870 in Erfurt , † February 22, 1940 in Hanover ) was a German librarian .

Life

Trommsdorff received his doctorate in Leipzig in 1896 , then he worked as a trainee and from 1901 assistant librarian at the University Library in Berlin , where he was also involved in the production of the complete catalog of the Prussian libraries. In 1903 he moved to the Royal Library in Berlin as a librarian , and in 1908 to the library of the TH Danzig . From 1914 to 1918 he was a soldier in the First World War. After the war he was appointed senior librarian in 1919, and in 1922 he moved to the library of the TH Hannover as director . Here he was a member of the advisory board for library matters and held a teaching position for library studies. In 1931 he became an honorary professor, and in 1935 he retired.
