Paul Walther (sculptor)

Paul Walther (born October 28, 1876 in Meißen ; † 1933 there ; full name: Louis Clemens Paul Walther ) was a German sculptor and animal sculptor from the Meissen porcelain factory .

Life

Paul Walther studied one semester at the art academy in Dresden and was otherwise self-taught . From 1891 he worked at the Meissen porcelain factory. Numerous models of animal figures come from him, also in connection with vessels. He was one of the most productive modellers at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory: 196 models from the period from 1904 to 1933 were made by him. Paul Walther was a member of the Dresden artist group in 1913 .
