Paula Hawkins (writer)
Paula Hawkins (born August 26, 1972 in Salisbury , British Rhodesia ) is a British writer. She also writes under the pseudonym Amy Silver .
Life
Paula Hawkins is the daughter of an economist and grew up in the British upper class in Rhodesia, from 1980 in Zimbabwe. She moved to England in 1989. She studied at Keble College (BA) in Oxford . She worked as a journalist in London for fifteen years.
From 2009 she published several novels under the pseudonym Amy Silver, three of which were also translated into German. Hawkins' thriller Girl on the train was an international bestseller in 2015. It was filmed in 2016 with Emily Blunt . In 2016, another novel was published under her name, Into the Water .
