Paula Krauss ( November 19, 1875 in Vienna - after 1904 ) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

Krauss, the daughter of the actor couple Johann and Josefine Krauss (also Josephine Krauss), was trained as an actress by Olga Lewinsky . She debuted in 1889 in Bratislava as "Susanne" in the comedy The world in which you get bored of Édouard Pailleron . After three years she went to the Raimund Theater in 1893 . She stayed there for seven years and was then engaged at the Theater in der Josefstadt in 1902 (inaugural role: "Paulina" in Honorable Girls ). She worked at the theater in der Josefstadt until 1904.

She represented the subject of sentimental lovers and youthful salon ladies. Ludwig Eisenberg highlights in his Great Biographical Lexicon of the German Stage in the XIX. Century Krauss' "finely balanced game" emerged.

Of her performances, “Bertha” in The Ahnfrau , “ Desdemona ”, “Melitta” and “Mali” in Katherl (Wiener Volksstück by Max Eugen Burckhard ) and Cäcilie in Educated People are worth mentioning.
