publication

The individual episodes first appeared in France in Charlie Mensuel and were later published in a total of seven albums.

The first publication in German-speaking countries appeared under the title Silvia in the comic magazine Valentina , which was named after Guido Crepax 's comic figure of the same name and did not go beyond the opening number. After that, the stories of Paulette were printed in the comic magazine Pip . Two albums were published by Bahia Verlag in 1980. Further publications followed in the 1980s in the comic magazines Pilot and Schwermetall .

A comedy based on the comic book called Paulette, la pauvre petite milliardaire and Jeanne Marine in the title role premiered in 1986.

reception

According to Reinhold Wolff , Paulette's stories allowed the snobbish enjoyment of the trivial by using the "patterns and stereotypes of trivial literature [...]." According to Andreas C. Knigge and Achim Schnurrer , Paulette could "also come from the pen of John Willie ". Knigge goes on to say that the “particular strength of Paulette's adventures lies in Wolinski's ironic, skilful travesty of trivial genres”. In the series "left folklore mixes with all the clichés of trivial literature to create a crazy cocktail". According to Tim Pilcher , Pichard found "a unique style" with Paulette .
