Reinhold Wolff

Reinhold Wolff (born May 6, 1941 in Munich ; † November 10, 2006 in Bissendorf ) was a German literary scholar . From 1999 to 2006 he was chairman of the German Karl May Society .

Life

Wolff was born in Munich in 1941 as the son of the veterinarian Adolf Wolff . In 1960 he graduated from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich . He then studied classical philology, Romance studies and German studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . 1960/1961 he spent as a French state scholarship at the University of Bordeaux with a focus on comparative literature and French literature . In 1969 he completed his studies as a Magister Artium at the University of Munich . A year later he did his doctorate summa cum laude with Alfred Noyer-Weidner in Munich. He then worked initially as a VDWA, from 1973 as a research assistant at the University of Regensburg in the field of Romance literature. In 1980 he completed his habilitation in Romance philology / literary studies at the University of Regensburg. From 1980 he was an academic advisor at the University of Mainz in the Department of Applied Linguistics in Germersheim . In 1981 he was re- qualified .

In 1982 he was appointed professor for literary studies at Bielefeld University with a focus on “Theory of Literature” at Bielefeld University. In the summer of 1996, the denomination was expanded to include French: Literary Studies . From 1987 to 1989 he was dean.
