Pauline Garon

Pauline Garon (born September 9, 1901 in Montreal , † August 30, 1965 in San Bernardino ) was a Canadian - American actress . She was a busy actress during the silent film and sound film era, starring in 87 films between 1920 and 1950.

Live and act

Garon was the youngest of eleven siblings. In her hometown she attended the Couvent Sacre-Coeur School, where she first came into contact with the theater.

When she moved to New York around 1920, she appeared in first Broadway plays. Eventually she turned to film, and her first film roles included A Manhattan Knight (1920), The Power Withinm (1921), Polly of the Follies (1922) and Reported Missing (1922). In 1923 she was named one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars . In the 1925 German film production Der Farmer aus Texas , she was directed by Joe May in the role of Abby Grant. More films followed and their roles became increasingly important.

From the mid-1930s, the film appearances became rarer and she was only seen occasionally in small roles. She had her last role in a film in 1950.

Garon was married three times. Her first marriage to actor and director Lowell Sherman lasted from 1926 to 1930. In 1940 she married actor Clyde Harland Alban. Both marriages ended in divorce. In 1953 she married Ross Wilson Forester, with whom she was married until his death in 1964. She died on August 27, 1965 at the age of 64 at Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino; she was buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City .
