Paulo Pezzolano , full name Paulo César Pezzolano Suárez , (born April 25, 1983 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.87 meter tall midfielder "Papa" Pezzolano was at the beginning of his career from 2001 to 2005 inclusive in the ranks of the Club Atlético Rentistas . There he played a total of 49 games in the Primera División in the seasons 2004 to 2005/06 and scored 16 goals (2004: 32 games / 10 goals; 2005: 15/5; 2005/06: 2/1). In the first half of 2006 he was active on loan at the Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense . In mid-2006, he then joined Defensor Sporting for the 2006/07 season and ran in 21 first division matches with the Montevideans. He hit the opposing goal five times. In the Apertura 2007 a career station at Club Atlético Peñarol followed . For the "Aurinegros" he played in twelve games in the top Uruguayan league. A personal goal he did not succeed. At Clausura 2009 he moved to Liverpool Montevideo within Montevideo . In the second half of the season, e was used in 14 first division games and scored twelve times. For the 2008/09 season, the statistics show him eight goals in 25 appearances in the Primera División. In addition, he has played two matches (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2009 . In early September 2009 he was loaned to the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca , for whom he played twelve times (no goal) in the Spanish Primera División and five times (no goal) in the Copa del Rey in the 2009/10 season. In mid-December 2010 he left the Spaniards and then moved to Hangzhou Nabel Greentown in China in late December 2010 or early January 2011, depending on the sources . With the Chinese, he was used in 24 league games and scored six goals. In the first half of 2012, he worked for Necaxa . For the Mexican club, he played twelve league encounters and scored one goal. In mid-2012 he returned to Liverpool Montevideo. There he worked in a total of 84 league games in the following seasons. He hit the opponent's goal 21 times (2012/13 (I): 19/8; 2013/14 (I): 30/8; 2014/15 (II): 24/5; 2015/16 (I): 11/0). He has also made four appearances and one goal in the 2012 Copa Sudamericana . Since mid-January 2016 he has continued his career at Club Atlético Torque in the Segunda División . In the 2016 Clausura he was used in 14 second division games and scored eight goals. Since November 2016 he has also been the coach of the club's professional team.
