Paulo Vitor Barreto de Souza (born July 12, 1985 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer player who is currently without a contract.

Career

Paulo Vitor Barreto began his professional career in 2003 with the Serie B club FBC Treviso . In his first season he reached 15th place with the Venetians, but remained in seven games without a goal. In the following season 2004/05 Barreto scored twelve goals in 25 games and finished fourth in Serie B with Treviso, who entitled to the playoff games for promotion to Serie A. Treviso were clearly defeated in two games against Perugia Calcio , but rose to Serie A because of the bankruptcy of Perugia, while the Umbrians were downgraded to Serie C. Despite this success, Barreto left the club and moved to Udinese Calcio in the summer of 2005 . In Udine, too, he was part of the regular squad, but was never able to prevail against competitors such as Antonio Di Natale and Fabio Quagliarella . For the 2007/08 season, the attacker returned on loan to FBC Treviso. With his 14 goals this season, he helped Treviso to stay in Serie B.

On July 14, 2008 AS Bari announced the loan of the attacker until the end of the season. Barreto proved to be an important reinforcement for the Apulians. With 23 goals in 32 games (12 assists) in the 2008/09 season, he was the best goalscorer at AS Bari, and with 80 points he won the Serie B championship and secured a sovereign promotion to the highest Italian league. Due to his convincing performance, AS Bari extended the loan for another year. In the 2009/10 season , Barreto was the Apulians' best attacker and scored 14 goals this season. After the Apulians were relegated from Serie A, he moved to Udinese Calcio in the summer of 2011 . There Barreto could not prevail and completed only eleven league games without scoring in one and a half years. This prompted him to move to the northern Italian Autostadt Turin in January 2013, where he has since played for the local FC .
