Paulus Orchestra Stuttgart

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PaulusOrchester Stuttgart is a symphony orchestra made up of advanced amateurs and instrumental teachers. It was founded in 1983 by Veronika Stoertzenbach with like-minded music students. For 32 years the orchestra rehearsed and played under her direction in the Pauluskirche in Stuttgart-West .

The orchestra performs symphonic and oratorical works two to three times a year , mainly from the Romantic period , but also from the Baroque , Classical and Modern periods . It worked with the Paulus Choir under its former conductor Dieter Kurz and with young musicians.

Both Stoertzenbach and Dieter Kurz said goodbye to the ensembles of the Pauluskirche at the end of 2015. Since summer 2016, Sabine Steinmetz has been the new cantor of the Pauluskirche choir and orchestra.

Concert announcements appear on the orchestra's website and recordings can be heard . This website was created in the anniversary year 2008 as a study project for the software engineering course at Heilbronn University . In the summer of 2012, the 'PaulusApp' was created as a Bachelor thesis, an app for smartphones with the Android operating system , with which this information can also be obtained in compressed form on mobile devices. This app can be downloaded from the orchestra's website.
