The Paulus Cathedral ( Albanian  Katedralja e Shën Palit ) in Tirana is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës . It is located in the center of Tirana on the Boulevard Zhan D'Ark ( Jeanne d'Arc ), which runs along the Lana River. The cathedral, which opened in 2002, is dedicated to the apostle Paul , who is said to have founded the Christian community in Durrës .

The construction was carried out in the form of a triangle, which on the one hand symbolizes the Trinity , but also the close ties between the most important religions in the country. The roof slopes down from the main facade to the rear. The facade is surmounted by a stone statue of Saint Paul standing on the gable above the entrance. In the windows there are pictures of Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa . The church tower is attached to the northeast of the building. The originally planned large dome was only half implemented.

The St. Lucia Cathedral in Durrës is a con- cathedral of the diocese. The St. Paul's Cathedral replaced the Sacred Heart Cathedral , which was built in 1938. The building site was given free of charge to the Catholic Church by the Albanian state when Pope John Paul II visited Albania in 1993. With the establishment of the new archbishopric in 1992, the bishopric was moved from Durrës to Tirana. The foundation stone was laid in November 1994. For a long time, the construction work made hardly any progress. In 2001 they were completed. The cathedral was inaugurated on January 26, 2002.

To the west of the cathedral is the Hotel Dajti , and to the east is the headquarters of Banka Kombëtare Tregtare . In front of the church, a footbridge leads over the Lana to the European Trade Center office tower and the Enver Hoxha Museum .
