Pavel Kolesnikov

Pawel Kolesnikow ( Russian Павел Колесников ; born February 25, 1989 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian pianist and chamber musician .

Life

Kolesnikow, the son of scientists, began to learn piano and violin at the age of six. In 2004, when he was 15, he went to the State Conservatory in Novosibirsk, where he studied with Mary Lebenzon until 2007 . He is currently continuing his piano studies at the Moscow State Conservatory with Nikolai Lugansky . He also took part in master classes with Dmitri Alexandrowitsch Baschkirow , Steven Bishop-Kovacevich , Emile Naumoff , Renaud Capuçon , Christian Frank , Mario delli Ponti , Gábor Takács-Nagy and Sedmara Zakarian Rutstein . As a chamber musician and soloist, he has since performed in Italy , Spain , Great Britain , Poland and Germany .

In recent years, Kolesnikow has won several first prizes in various competitions, including the Concours de Piano in Andorra (2001), the Gilels Piano Competition in Odessa (2006) and the Delia Steinberg Piano Competition in Madrid . In total, he has already won prizes in more than 15 international competitions. In 2005 and 2006 he took part in the Casalmaggiore International Festival in Italy , the Verbier Festival (2007, 2009) and the ArsLonga international youth music festival in Moscow . In 2007 he was awarded the Young Talent of Russia award in Moscow . In October 2011, Kolesnikow won third prize and the audience prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics international piano competition .
