List of rose varieties |
Pax (from Latin pax , peace) was introduced at the end of the First World War in 1918 by the British breeder Pemberton . Often referred to as the musk rose , she founded the class of the Rosa Moschata hybrids . It is a modern shrub rose and blooms remontantly from early June to November. The rose variety is characterized by a delicate fragrance, which is particularly strong in good weather.
Pax has a dark green mood and white to cream-colored, cup-shaped, semi-double flowers with a pale yellow base. The flowers are arranged in umbels with up to 50 flowers. The rose variety forms a sturdy shrub 120 to 250 cm high and 150 cm wide.
The remontant rose is hardy ( USDA climate zones 4 to 9). The rose variety is found in many rosaries and gardens around the world, including the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Rosarium Petrović , the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden, the Sissinghurst Castle Garden, the Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe and the Europa-Rosarium Sangerhausen shown.
Rose breeding was awarded a gold medal at the Royal National Rose Society Show in 1918.
