Pecker Dunne

Pecker Dunne (born April 1, 1933 in Castlebar , County Mayo , Ireland , † December 19, 2012 in Killimer, County Clare ) was an Irish folk and traveling musician of the Pavee .

Born in his parents' horse-drawn wagon, Irish Pavee from County Wexford , where his father was known as "The Fiddler Dunne", he was one of Ireland's most renowned banjo players; he also played the fiddle , guitar and melodeon organ. The focus of his texts thematized the life and fate of the wandering Tinker in the discriminatory environment, exemplified by his well-known lullaby Tinkers Lullaby . Most recently he lived in Killimer, County Clare  with his wife and four children, who continue the musical tradition.
