Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint (born June 21, 1853 in Skælskør , † December 1, 1930 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish painter and architect. He is particularly known for the Grundtvig Church in Copenhagen.

Life

Klint graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and first exhibited some of his landscape paintings in 1883. While initially working as an engineer, he founded his own architectural office in 1896. From 1902 to 1905 he was chairman of the Society for Decorative Arts.

In 1919 construction began on the Grundtvig Church, which Klint won in 1913. It is designed in brick with a neo-Gothic interior. The building was completed in 1940 by his son Kaare Klint .

In 1924 Peder Klint was awarded the CF Hansen Medal .
