Pedro Order
The Pedro Order was founded by the Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro I on April 16, 1826 in Rio de Janeiro and on October 19, 1842, by his successor Dom Pedro II .
Order classes
The order had three classes and the number of members was limited.
- Grand Cross to 12 members
- Commander to 50 members
- Knights to 100 members
Order decoration
The sign of the order shows a dragon rising from a seven-pointed crown set with rubies and emeralds , who has a shield on his chest with the initials of the founder PI in black letters. The head of the dragon is crowned by the Brazilian imperial crown.
The breast star is a white enameled cross with gold borders and balls at the tips. Inside is a white medallion with the image of the dragon as described above. The inscription FUNDADOR DO IMPERIO DE BRASIL is written in gold in the green ring of the medallion . The star, like the sign of the order, is crowned by the imperial crown.
Carrying method
The ribbon is green with white borders.
