Gainward is a computer hardware manufacturer , which refers to the production and development of high-performance 3D - graphics cards specializes mainly engaged in the computer game used scene.

Gainward was founded in 1984, has its headquarters in Taipei and has been part of Palit Microsystems since 2005 . The European branch is based in Martinsried near Munich . The production facilities are located in Shenzhen (China) and Wugu Taipei (Taiwan).

Gainward has been using graphics chipsets from Nvidia since 2000 . Since the launch of the RV770 chip from AMD / ATI in 2008, Gainward was also an AMD partner and in the meantime also offered graphics cards with ATI graphics processors , but has been the exclusive Nvidia partner again for some time. Like many competing companies, Gainward also offers graphics cards that are factory-overclocked.
