Pedro "El León de la Sierra" Avilés Pérez († September 15, 1978 in Sinaloa ) was a Mexican drug lord and, as part of the first generation of the great Mexican drug smugglers, a pioneer of drug trafficking in Mexico.

Criminal career

Born in the municipality of Badiraguato , Pedro Avilés Pérez began distributing marijuana and heroin as a pioneer in large-scale drug trafficking in the 1960s.
