Pedro Contreras (* 7. January 1972 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish football - goalkeeper .

Born in Madrid, Pedro Contreras started his career at the Madrid suburban club Rayo Vallecano . This was followed by engagements at FC Málaga and Betis Sevilla in Andalusia , crowned by winning the 2005 Cup with Betis. After he was loaned to the second division club FC Cádiz for the 2007/2008 season , he ended his career and became goalkeeping coach with his former team Málaga CF.

Contreras was part of the Spanish squad at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea , but was not used. He made his debut in the Spanish national team on October 16, 2002 in a 0-0 draw against Paraguay - it was his only appearance in the national goal .
