Pedro Damián Álvarez Alvarado (born February 23, 1949 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

Life

Club stations

Álvarez received his first professional contract in 1967 with CF Monterrey . A year later he moved to the Jabatos de Nuevo León , with whom he was relegated to the second division at the end of the 1968/69 season. In order to continue to play first class, Álvarez then switched to CD Veracruz , where he spent the next four years.

1973 Álvarez returned to CF Monterrey and two years later he moved to CD Guadalajara , his longest station with five years of club membership. In 1980 his last move to Club León followed , in whose ranks he ended his professional career.

National team

His first international game for the Mexican national soccer team completed Álvarez on September 30, 1970 in a friendly against Brazil , which was played in the Maracanã of Rio de Janeiro and was lost 2-1. His first international goal, however, he did not succeed until August 17, 1975 in his 14th international game, when he scored the 2-0 in the 7-0 win against Costa Rica . In his next international match against Hungary (4: 1) he also scored a goal, as he did in his last international match on October 15, 1976 as part of qualifying for the 1978 World Cup , when he beat him 2-0 to 3-0 the United States contributed.
