Peetrikese unenägu (in German "Peterchens Traum") is an Estonian puppet cartoon . It was the first puppet film in Estonian film history.

The animated film intended for preschool children was produced by the state-owned Soviet Estonian production company Tallinnfilm from November 1957 . It premiered in 1958.
Peetrikese unenägu comes from the Estonian animation pioneer Elbert Tuganov (1920–2007). This first cartoon by Tuganov is still quite simple. Rein Raamat was the artistic director of the film .
Template and plot
Peetrikese unenägu is loosely based on the 1942 Danish classic children's book “Palle alone on the world” ( Palle alene i Verden ) by Jens Sigsgaard (1910-1991). The children's book was also published in Germany under the title "Paul alone in the world".
Synopsis: Little Peter, who wishes so much, wakes up one morning. He realizes that he is suddenly all alone in the world. He's happy to be able to do so many different things ... Because of his lively temperament he always gets into new adventures. But the boy's initial joy quickly disappears. In the end it becomes clear: fortunately everything was just a dream.
