Peirescius is an impact crater on the southeastern edge of the lunar front , southwest of Oken crater and southeast of Vega . The rim of the crater is eroded and the interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French astronomer Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc .
