Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (also Penn & Teller: BS! or Bulls ***! ) is a multiple Emmy- nominated US documentary series that was produced from 2003 to 2010 by the American pay station Showtime . The moderators are the magician and comedian duo Penn & Teller . The show's episodes aim to expose pseudoscientific ideas (for example, PSI and telekinesis - phenomena that lack any scientific basis), supranatural views such as religions, and popular opinions ("Gandhi was a better person than any of us").

The show's skeptical approach and the libertarian views of Penn and Teller are expressed in the fact that advocates of both supporters of the cause (e.g. theologians) and opponents (e.g. atheists) have their say. Promoting critical thinking is a declared aim of the program, which is to be achieved through the title as well as the provocative and blunt type of moderation.

Well-known topics on the program include alleged alien abductions , alternative medicine and extrasensory perceptions , the fight against drugs , animal rights , American gun law and environmental protection . Penn & Teller approach the topics in the manner of Harry Houdini and James Randi (who has already spoken several times in the program), who are known for the scientific examination (and without exception of the refutation) of supposedly supernatural forces and phenomena.
