The former Pension Lehning in Uetersen

The former Pension Lehning is a listed building near the old town of Uetersen in the Pinneberg district .

The thatched two-column hall house was built in 1764 using components from 1622. What is striking about this building is the inclined gable, which is supposed to protect the masonry and the main entrance from the weather. The cubature , the structure and the external appearance have been preserved to this day despite the most diverse uses. It is the only house that has been preserved after the great fire in Katzhagen in 1893. In the period before the First World War until after the Second World War , the building was inhabited by the Lehning sisters, who run a guesthouse there under the name of Haus in der Sonneand offered the pupils and teachers of the nearby schools a warm meal. The building was extensively restored between 2000 and 2002. Historical writings and diaries that date from around 1900 were found.

The building is today witness to the rural past of the city Uetersen and is due to its architectural and historical value as a cultural monument under monument protection .
