Pepe Jara

Pepe Jara (born December 25, 1928 in Ciudad Madero , † July 30, 2005 in Mexico City ), known as El Trovador Solitario, was a Mexican singer.

Jara grew up in Chihuahua and lived in Mexico City since 1947. There he belonged to groups such as Los Pepes , El Culiacán and Los Duendes and was considered the most important interpreter of the songs of the composer Álvaro Carrillo . Titles such as Echame a mí la Culpa , Te Odio , Te Quiero , Último Trago and Serenata sin Luna became known . His repertoire included boleros by Guty Cárdenas , Gonzalo Curiel , Gabriel Ruiz Galindo , Ricardo López Méndez , Ricardo Palmerín , Juan Díaz del Moral , María Greever , Agustín Lara , Pastor Cervera , José Antonio Zorrilla and Gabriel Luna de la Fuente . Jara was friends with artists such as Pedro Infante , Amparo Montes and the writers Octavio Paz , Gabriel García Márquez and Carlos Fuentes . At the suggestion of the latter, his memory book El Andariego was created .
