Pepsi Independence Cup 1997

The 1997 Pepsi Independence Cup was a four-nation tournament that was held from May 29th to 27th, 1997 in India in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the 1997 international cricket season, teams from Australia , Pakistan and Sri Lanka took part alongside the host . In the final, Sri Lanka was able to prevail with two wins against Pakistan.

It was the first tour of the season for all teams.

format

In a preliminary round, each team played against each other once. There were two points for a win, one for a draw or a rejection. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played a best-of-three series for the tournament victory.
